Shenandoah Hills
Wind Energy Center
The Shenandoah Hills Wind Energy Center is a proposed 200-megawatt (MW) wind power generation facility in Page and Fremont Counties. The project is targeted to begin construction in 2025 and be fully operational by 2026.
Wind technology delivers clean, reliable, and affordable power from one of the oldest known energy sources and today is helping to modernize America’s energy grid.
The proposed project is located in Southwestern Page and Southeastern Fremont counties, between Riverton and Coin.
An estimated $234 million will be invested in Page and Fremont Counties through local taxes and landowner payments over the life of the project.
The Shenandoah Hills Energy Center will support Southwest Iowa through additional property tax revenue, helping fund essential services for the community. Invenergy projects support local education initiatives, emergency & veteran services programs, and environmental stewardship efforts.
At peak construction, Shenandoah Hills Wind Energy Center is expected to employ more than 200 people. After construction, the project will employ up to 10 additional permanent operations and maintenance (O&M) staff.
